These numbers are crazy… I just can’t believe that these people make use of people’s money for luxuries for themselves. That’s why I find it hard to trust the government that they actually do their job properly, even if I try.
Its the 5% increase in MP’s expenses year-on-year that shocked me the most. With inflation at 1%, and still coming off the back of one of the biggest political scandals in recent history, you would expect them to be falling. So to see expenses up 5% is just crazy!
Really? those numbers? I wish they could just put those money in the right place like giving charity or donations to those who are in need of it. It’s sad that we ourselves selected these politicians and look what they’re doing.
I’m not against politicians being paid a (decent) salary and reasonable expenses, but the increases in the last year against inflation are very difficult to justify!

We had our share of spending scandals here in Canada too. The more it changes the more it’s the same.
I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with these people? Do they believe that we “the people” belong to them?
Here they have cut our pension plans but didn’t touch theirs. They gave themselves astronomic raises and departure packages but have frozen our salaries and risen our taxes… just to name a few.
Anyways… don’t get me started on that! 🙂
