The Forbes Rich Lists are always interesting, but Shelby from investingtips360.com has produced the following infographic which breaks down some of the facts and figures. I found this really interesting, so thought that I would share it with the moneystepper faithful.
The main points from the Forbes Billionaires List that I find interesting are:
- Whilst there has been a 25% increase in the number of female billionaires in one year (only a 15% increase in males), women still only make up 1 in 10 billionaires.
- The rich are certainly getting richer. To break the Top 20, you need a wealth 35% higher than last year!
- Given the relative size of the economies, there seems to be fewer billionaires in China than in the US. However, I think that this may be due to the number of reported billionaires.
Just WOW… I guess with this calculations, I need to live 19,000 lifetimes to make what Bill Gates is worth!
The lesson I’m going to draw from this illustration is that there’s a lot of great entrepreneurs on this list. Be brave and be bold with your ideas. Like Sheryl Sandberg “Lean In”, ladies 🙂 LoL!
Though my goal isn’t to be a billionaire, ultimately I have great respect for those who reach this plateau.
Lots of neat facts in that graphic. I can’t imagine being a billionaire at 24 haha, so young! Glad to see more women getting on the list too.
Amazing!! I find infographics like this fascinating. Thanks for sharing!
Great infogrpahic. From the looks of things, it still seems that America is the Land of Opportunity with the majority of billionaires. My takeaway though is to always keeping pushing ahead because it pays off in the long run.
Wow – a 35% increase over last year?!? That’s crazy!!!
I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to become so rich and see my name included in the list. But then again, I am female. Sorry, just doing a little wishful thinking. But whoa, really, what an unbelievable richness these people have!
