Payasugym – Flexible, affordable fitness
I have previously posted on my love for outdoor exercise. Not only is it free, but it is also great for your physical and mental health.
However, with the Great British winter (and even summer most of the time), running and cycling outdoors isn’t always a pleasant experience, especially when its -17°C outside!
Therefore, for many people, going to the gym is essential. However, the majority of “gym goers” are wasting a huge amount of money on fixed gym memberships that they just don’t use.
payasUgym.com is a great alternative which could help you save money on gym membership to the tune of £100s per year.
How much does gym membership cost?
According to the 2013 State of the UK Fitness Industry Report, 12.6% of the UK population is registered as members of a private health and fitness club.
The average gym membership according to the report is £43 per month, or £516 per year.
According to Statistics Brain, gym membership owners will go to the gym, on average, twice per week. However, this includes people who go 5-7 times a week. In fact, they estimate that 67% percent of people with gym memberships never use them.
Gym cost per visit without payasugym
So, let’s assume that, unless you are a committed gym member (you consistently use your gym membership at least 3 times every week), you are only visiting the gym on average once per week.
In this scenario, your gym membership costs £9.92 per visit. That’s pretty expensive, and it could be even more if you have a few months of laziness! If you are in this boat, stop! It’s time to save money on gym membership!
What’s the solution – payasugym.com
If you are not 100% certain that you will visit the gym several times every week, then paying each time you visit, rather than locking into a membership will be a much more reasonable alternative.
However, finding gyms which you can visit without membership can sometimes be difficult, and the cost per visit can often be as much as the aforementioned £9.92 figure.
This is where payasUgym.com can help. Payasugym has a database of 1,600 gyms nationwide, which allow you to pay per visit. They also have a great search function to find a gym appropriate for you.
For example, a quick search of payasugym for gyms within 10 miles of Newcastle, UK, with a price of less than £5 returns 35 results:
Each gym is then listed separately, with the price per session, the price for a 5 session pass (called a FixFit5), details of the gym and a rating provided by users:
The real benefit
Not only does payasugym.com show you which gyms are the best, they also provide the cheapest prices to help you save money on gym membership. As you can see in that example for Gateshead International Stadium (which is a gym I used to waste membership money on!), you can save 30% on the standard price by buying the 5-visit pass through payasugym.
And this isn’t the best saving on offer! For some sites in London, you can save up to 53% on the entrance price by buying the FixFit 5 pass through payasugym.
The site doesn’t end there. Payasygum also has a community (as you can see from the reviews) and a database of articles on fitness, exercise, psychology, nutrition and lifestyle!
And how much is membership to payasugym? Nothing. Nadda. Diddly squat.

That seems like a pretty good idea to me considering how few times people use the gym per week, or some people get on a roll one month and then skip a couple months. I forgo the gym entirely and yes I do live in warmer weather, but I often do training using free apps on my phone or iPad. Or there are other free or low cost options as well. Gyms must LOVE this time of year because they really get a lot of new members who think they will use the gym in Jan but never do. 🙂
I would totally go for a deal like this!! Like you, we do LOTS of outdoor exercise in the spring, summer and fall months, but in winter, I’m happier indoors. Using a program like this would allow me to continue my exercise program without having to pay for a gym year-round. Thanks for the good info, Moneystepper!
Whoa, what a great idea! People like to suggest exercising at home or outdoors to save money, but I prefer the gym since it has all the equipment I need!
